Jasper has been carved into seals, beads, vessels, and inlay across ancient cultures because its dense silica body accepts a fine polish and appears in earth-red, green, yellow, and patterned varieties. The name covers a wide family, so each piece needs its own provenance. Jasper's enduring character comes from colour held inside the stone, not placed upon it.
