White Jade

“White jade” must first be identified gemologically: it may be nephrite, jadeite, or another material sold under the name. When verified as fine white nephrite, it belongs to the long Chinese tradition of jade associated with refinement, moral character, and imperial carving. The story depends on authenticity; without it, borrowed symbolism would diminish both the culture and the stone.
